Therapist University Park TX | Trauma & Anxiety
In University Park, TX, high-achieving adults often face intense pressure to maintain success, both at work and in personal life. Even when everything seems under control, the constant mental activation can leave you exhausted, overthinking, or emotionally disconnected.
Through therapy for high achievers, we explore the patterns that keep you stuck and develop practical strategies to shift them. The focus is on helping you feel more grounded, manage stress effectively, and regain clarity in your decision-making and relationships.
Sessions are available in person or virtually, providing a space to step back from external demands and focus on your internal well-being. Over time, therapy helps clients in University Park feel more resilient, present, and capable of sustaining their high performance without the emotional cost.
How it works
Step 1: Stabilize the System
We start by identifying how survival mode is currently operating in your body. We map your triggers, your stress patterns, and your overfunctioning responses. From the beginning, we build nervous system regulation so you have immediate tools to reduce reactivity and increase steadiness.
Step 2: Resolve the Root Patterns
Once stability is in place, we address the trauma and learned patterns underneath the pressure. Overfunctioning, perfectionism, emotional suppression, hyper-independence — we untangle these at the source so you’re not just managing symptoms, you’re changing the wiring driving them.
Step 3: Expand Capacity and Integration
As regulation strengthens, we shift toward integration. Leadership becomes steadier. Relationships feel less reactive. Decisions feel clearer. You begin operating from embodied control instead of chronic bracing. This is where survival strength transforms into regulated power.
Individual Therapy
Life often flows between commutes on Hillcrest Avenue, school activities, and professional obligations. High-achieving adults may appear composed and capable, yet inside, constant mental activation can create anxiety, irritability, or emotional fatigue.
Therapy for high achievers helps you recognize the patterns that keep your mind racing. The work focuses on creating space to respond intentionally, manage stress effectively, and regain clarity and emotional balance while navigating the fast-paced routines of University Park.
Therapy for Men
You sometimes feel like your mind never stops. You’re used to handling stress on your own, but frustration, irritability, and emotional distance are becoming more noticeable, even when everything looks fine on the outside.
Therapy for men gives you tools to recognize these patterns and respond differently. We focus on emotional regulation, understanding your internal experiences, and creating practical ways to reconnect with yourself and your relationships, even during high-pressure days.
Burnout Therapy
You notice your energy slipping and your focus fracturing. Even though you’re still delivering results, the mental and emotional cost feels heavier every day.
Burnout therapy helps you restore your capacity and build strategies for long-term sustainability. We focus on reducing energy drains, rebuilding focus and motivation, and helping you navigate daily life with clarity, balance, and renewed drive.
Anxiety Therapy
Even when things appear manageable, constant anticipation of problems makes it difficult to focus, relax, or enjoy the present, leaving tension in your body and mind.
In anxiety therapy, we focus on understanding why your nervous system remains activated and how to bring it back to a calm state. The work provides practical tools to reduce stress, ease persistent tension, and feel more present, clear, and capable in daily life.
EMDR Therapy
Even in the middle of a busy day, your body tenses at certain sounds, faces, or situations. The past intrudes without warning, leaving you emotionally drained, unfocused, or anxious, despite everything looking “normal” externally.
EMDR therapy provides a structured way to process these memories safely, reducing the emotional intensity that keeps you stuck. It helps transform past trauma from a constant weight into a manageable memory that no longer dictates your reactions.
Slowly, you reclaim your energy and presence. Tasks, conversations, and moments you once avoided become easier, and you feel more grounded, calm, and able to live without being defined by the past.
PTSD Therapy
PTSD therapy supports you when your system hasn’t been able to fully process certain experiences. You may feel like you understand what happened, but still experience strong emotional or physical responses. In my approach, we focus on helping your system complete that processing so it no longer feels unresolved. This helps you move through your day with more ease, more stability, and less emotional intensity.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy supports you when your body doesn’t fully relax, even in moments that should feel calm. You might find yourself trying to rest, but your system stays alert, making it difficult to fully settle.
I help you work directly with your nervous system so it can begin to shift out of that state of activation. This creates space for more calm, more stability, and a deeper sense of ease in your body.
Betrayal trauma therapy
Betrayal trauma and infidelity therapy supports you when your emotional responses feel intense and difficult to regulate. You may notice waves of anger, sadness, or confusion that come up quickly and feel hard to settle. Even when nothing is actively happening, your system may still feel on edge, as if it’s trying to protect you from something that already occurred.
This can make it difficult to feel present or fully engaged in your day. In my approach, we work on helping your nervous system process what it’s been holding, so those reactions begin to soften over time. This creates more space for clarity and a sense of internal steadiness. As this work deepens, you begin to feel more in control of your responses and less overwhelmed by the emotional impact of what happened.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.
How often do we meet?
Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.
At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.
Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.
Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?
I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
