Therapist Austin TX | Telehealth Trauma & EMDR
If you are looking for a trauma therapist in Austin, TX, I provide therapy for high-achieving adults navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm.
This includes individual therapy for high-achieving adults and therapy for men. Many clients are not new to self-awareness. They understand their patterns, but still find themselves stuck in overthinking, pressure, irritability, or emotional shutdown that does not resolve.
Austin is a fast-paced, high-growth city where many professionals are balancing demanding careers, entrepreneurial environments, and constant movement. From the outside, life may look exciting and successful. Internally, there is often a constant sense of pressure that never turns off. Clients typically reach out when their usual level of drive and discipline is no longer enough to sustain their sense of well-being.
How it works
Step 1: Stabilize the System
We start by identifying how survival mode is currently operating in your body. We map your triggers, your stress patterns, and your overfunctioning responses. From the beginning, we build nervous system regulation so you have immediate tools to reduce reactivity and increase steadiness.
Step 2: Resolve the Root Patterns
Once stability is in place, we address the trauma and learned patterns underneath the pressure. Overfunctioning, perfectionism, emotional suppression, hyper-independence — we untangle these at the source so you’re not just managing symptoms, you’re changing the wiring driving them.
Step 3: Expand Capacity and Integration
As regulation strengthens, we shift toward integration. Leadership becomes steadier. Relationships feel less reactive. Decisions feel clearer. You begin operating from embodied control instead of chronic bracing. This is where survival strength transforms into regulated power.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy for high-achieving adults is for those who are used to working at a fast pace but feel the internal toll of maintaining it. You may be reliable, successful, and capable, but you constantly overthink or feel mentally exhausted, even when nothing is wrong.
Many clients describe feeling like their minds never fully shut off. There is always something running in the background, making it difficult to relax or feel present. Over time, this leads to fatigue, irritability, and emotional disconnection.
In sessions, we focus on understanding what is driving this pressure and helping your nervous system shift out of constant activation.
Therapy for Men
Therapy for men supports men who are used to handling stress independently but are starting to feel the impact on their relationships, mood, or overall functioning. You may notice increased frustration, emotional distance, or difficulty expressing what is happening internally.
Many men come in after trying to ignore or outwork the issue. Over time, that stops being effective, and patterns of shutdown or irritability become more noticeable.
This work is direct and grounded. Sessions focus on helping you understand what is happening internally and respond differently without forcing approaches that do not feel natural.
Burnout Therapy
Burnout therapy is designed for professionals who are still functioning but feel their capacity declining. You may still be performing at a high level, but everything feels heavier, slower, or harder to sustain.
Rest no longer feels restorative, and pushing through is no longer effective. Motivation becomes inconsistent, and focus is harder to maintain.
This work focuses on restoring your capacity and helping you operate sustainably over the long-term.
Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety often shows up as constant overthinking, difficulty relaxing, and feeling like your mind is always anticipating what could go wrong. Many clients in Austin, TX, experience this while managing demanding roles and fast-paced environments.
Even when things are stable, your system remains activated. This affects sleep, focus, and your ability to feel present.
Anxiety therapy focuses on helping your nervous system regulate, rather than just managing thoughts.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy is used by clients who feel like they understand their past but still feel its impact in their current reactions. You may notice triggers or emotional responses that feel automatic.
This work focuses on processing experiences at the root so they no longer carry the same intensity. It is especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and unresolved stress patterns.
EMDR is integrated into therapy in a structured and manageable way through our sessions.
PTSD Therapy
PTSD therapy supports individuals who feel stuck in patterns of emotional overwhelm, shutdown, or reactivity. These patterns often show up in relationships, work, or daily life. You may feel like you understand your experiences, but your reactions still feel automatic or difficult to change.
In therapy, we focus on helping your system process what has not been fully resolved so you can respond differently in the present.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy is for you if stress shows up physically in ways that are hard to ignore. You might notice tension in your shoulders, fatigue that doesn’t fully resolve, or a sense of pressure that builds over time.
I work with you to understand these physical responses and help your system release what it has been holding. Over time, this leads to more regulation, more comfort in your body, and a greater sense of balance.
Betrayal trauma therapy
Betrayal trauma and infidelity therapy is for you if your sense of safety and control feels disrupted after what happened. You may notice difficulty concentrating, feeling on edge, or struggling to relax even in calm moments.
Your system may still be processing the impact of the betrayal, which can show up as tension, emotional reactivity, or a constant need to make sense of things. This is a natural response to a rupture in trust. In my work, we focus on helping your system stabilize and process that experience so it no longer feels as destabilizing. This creates a foundation for feeling more secure and present again. From there, you can begin to move through your life with more ease, more clarity, and a stronger sense of direction.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.
How often do we meet?
Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.
At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.
Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.
Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?
I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
