Therapist Royse City TX | Trauma & EMDR Therapy

If you are looking for virtual therapy in Royse City, TX, you may already sense that something is not quite working the way it used to. You are getting through your days, handling responsibilities, staying on top of things, but internally there may be pressure, overthinking, or a level of mental fatigue that does not fully go away.

My approach is direct and structured, focused on helping you understand what is happening beneath those patterns and how to actually shift them, not just manage them.

This often includes therapy for high achievers who are used to functioning at a high level while carrying ongoing internal pressure, as well as therapy for men who tend to process things internally and find it difficult to step out of cycles like stress, emotional shutdown, or constant self-demand.

In Royse City, where daily life is often built around staying local and keeping things efficient, virtual therapy allows you to create a consistent space for this work without disrupting that rhythm. You can engage in the process from your own environment, making it easier to stay committed and go deeper over time.

You can explore the services below to find the option that best fits what you are looking for right now.

How it works

Step 1: Stabilize the System

We start by identifying how survival mode is currently operating in your body. We map your triggers, your stress patterns, and your overfunctioning responses. From the beginning, we build nervous system regulation so you have immediate tools to reduce reactivity and increase steadiness.

Step 2: Resolve the Root Patterns

Once stability is in place, we address the trauma and learned patterns underneath the pressure. Overfunctioning, perfectionism, emotional suppression, hyper-independence — we untangle these at the source so you’re not just managing symptoms, you’re changing the wiring driving them.

Step 3: Expand Capacity and Integration

As regulation strengthens, we shift toward integration. Leadership becomes steadier. Relationships feel less reactive. Decisions feel clearer. You begin operating from embodied control instead of chronic bracing. This is where survival strength transforms into regulated power.

Individual Therapy

In therapy for high achievers, I work with you to understand how these patterns developed and why they continue to operate automatically. We focus on identifying where the pressure is coming from, how it is maintained, and what needs to shift so you are no longer operating from constant internal strain.

The goal is not to take away your drive, but to change the way you relate to it. Sessions are structured and focused, helping you move out of mental overload and into a way of functioning that feels more sustainable, clear, and grounded over time.

This is a space to step out of performance mode and begin working on what is happening underneath it, with clarity, depth, and practical direction.

Therapy for Men

You’re driving down George Hopper Road after a long day, thinking about work emails you haven’t answered yet, the errands waiting at home, and the tension you feel building in your shoulders. You’ve learned to handle stress on your own, to push through, to stay reliable and capable, but inside, it’s starting to feel heavy, like it’s wearing you down.

Maybe you notice yourself snapping at the kids, withdrawing from your partner, or zoning out because it’s easier than explaining what’s really happening. Therapy for men helps you break that cycle, giving you tools to understand your internal patterns and respond differently without forcing behaviors that feel unnatural.

Some days, it feels like no matter how hard you work, the pressure never lets up. You deserve a space where you can step back, process what’s really going on inside, and learn ways to manage stress, reconnect with your emotions, and improve your relationships. This work is direct, grounded, and focused on helping you regain control over your daily life.

Burnout Therapy

Burnout therapy is for you if you’ve been relying on discipline and consistency, but your system is no longer keeping up in the same way.  You may still be doing everything you need to do, but with less ease.

Fatigue builds, motivation drops, and rest doesn’t feel as effective as it once did.  I work with you to understand how long term stress has shaped your current state. Burnout therapy focuses on what’s happening beneath the surface, not just what you’re experiencing day to day.  This allows us to shift those patterns, so you can regain energy, feel more stable, and move forward without constant strain.

Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety therapy is for you if you often feel “on edge” without a clear reason why.  You might notice tightness in your body, shallow breathing, or a constant sense of anticipation that doesn’t fully go away.  I work with you to understand how your system has learned to stay in that state and what it needs in order to begin relaxing again.  Over time, this helps you feel more grounded, more in control of your responses, and less impacted by ongoing worry.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy is for you if your reactions feel stronger than the situation in front of you.  You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, shutting down, or becoming reactive in ways that are hard to control.

I use EMDR therapy to help your system understand that those experiences are no longer happening, allowing your responses to shift naturally.  Over time, this creates more stability, more emotional regulation, and a greater sense of control.

PTSD Therapy

PTSD therapy is for you if your system still reacts to experiences that feel like they haven’t fully passed.  You may notice feeling on edge, easily triggered, or emotionally overwhelmed, even when your current life feels stable.

In my work, we focus on helping your nervous system process what is still being held, so those responses no longer feel automatic.  Over time, you begin to feel more regulated, more present, and less impacted by past experiences.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is for you if you feel disconnected from your body or your emotions.  You might feel present in your life, but not fully experiencing it, as if there’s a layer of distance between you and how you feel.

9I work with you to rebuild that connection in a way that feels safe and gradual.  Over time, this helps you feel more grounded, more aware, and more fully engaged in your day-to-day experience.

Betrayal trauma therapy

Betrayal trauma and infidelity therapy is for you if you feel torn between trying to repair the relationship and wanting to protect yourself.  You may experience confusion, emotional swings, or difficulty trusting your own judgment.

I work with you to understand these responses and help your system process the impact of what happened.  This creates more clarity, stronger boundaries, and a more grounded sense of direction.

I serve clients in Royse City TX and nearby areas

I support clients in Royse City, TX, through virtual therapy, offering a way to work on your mental health without having to plan your day around getting out to Rockwall or further.

In Royse City, a lot of routines are built around staying local, schools, HEB runs, quick stops along I-30, and structuring your day so you do not have to be going back and forth more than necessary. Once you are home, especially in the evenings, it is very easy to just stay in that rhythm and not want to head back out for anything else.

Virtual therapy works within that reality. You can log in from home, without breaking that flow or turning therapy into another trip you have to justify making.

That makes it easier to stay consistent and actually engage with the work, rather than skipping sessions because it feels like too much on top of everything else.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

  • How often do we meet?

Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.

  • How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.

At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.

Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
